Oranges are a delicious and nutritious treat. They are also famously messy. So, when we saw how this man enjoys an orange sans mess, we knew we had to share it with you!

How this man attacks an orange is nothing short of brilliant. I wish I had known about this technique years ago; I might've been able to avoid that one incident.

'What incident?' you ask. Well, it all takes place in the crowded confines of a elementary school cafeteria some 20 years ago.

It was picture day, so all my peers were dressed to the nines in brand new Bugle Boy and Osh Kosh B'Gosh. Everyone was being particularly careful, per the strict instructions from their expectant parents, to not dirty themselves prior to the pictures that were to be taken after lunch period.

Why after lunch? I have no clue. It makes no sense to me either.

Regardless, up to this point I had been successful in keeping my tiny, white Old Navy button-up spotless. I was surprised at my cleanliness. Then, I made a critical error: I decided to reward myself with a snack.

Seeing as it was lunch time, I saw this as a good opportunity to nourish myself before the boring picture-taking process that was to follow. I reached in my wrinkled brown paper bag and pulled out a fresh orange.

Wanting to maintain my clean appearance, I meticulously peeled that orange with my fingernails. I made sure to be as careful as possible. But, for some reason, I found myself struggling to remove one frustrating part of the peel. My little nails gave more and more effort, but it still wasn't budging. It was almost as if this part of the peel had been super glued on.

Losing myself in my strenuous efforts, I gave it all the force my mini hands could muster. That's when it happened. The peel flew off with ease after my added strength, but that resulted in a handful of sloppy, sticky orange. Apparently, I had gripped the orange so hard that it had already began freeing some of its juices into my palm before I even completed the fateful, forceful peel.

My gaze then went from my hand to my now equally messy shirt. So, there I sat. A sticky, hungry failure fuming with child rage over what had just transpired. I was crushed.

After lunch, when it came time for my picture, I knew I had to do something. In a moment of hurried thinking and panic, I grabbed another student's parka from a nearby cubby, threw it on in one fluid motion and had my pictures taken.

Needless to say, when the photos finally arrived at my house, my mother was a bit surprised to discover pictures of her disheveled son rocking a stranger's clothes two sizes too small for him.

But to this day, that is still the best school photo I have ever taken.
