Have you ever been tired of peeling potatoes the old fashioned way? Perhaps you've used a potato peeler. Manually going around each potato one-by-one is not the most fun task. Chowhound recommends boiling them first for around 15 minutes to make the skin soft. However, both these conventional techniques are awfully time-consuming. Is there a faster way?
What if you can peel an entire bag of potatoes in under 5 minutes? Watch how Taras Kulakov, better known as Crazy Russian Hacker on YouTube, 'attacks' a bag of potatoes his way. Using just a few household items, he is able to expertly peel an entire bag of potatoes in a fraction of the time. How does one accomplish this feat?
You will need:- Potatoes- Drill- Bucket- Toilet brush (We recommend a brand new one)- Water
Step 1: Cut the handle off of your toilet brush. We will be attaching it into a drill and the handle part will be too wide to fit.
Step 2: Connect the toilet brush to the drill by inserting the end into the drill hole.
Step 3: Fill the bucket with potatoes water. You'll want to do this outside because it tends to get a little messy.
Step 4: Once the bucket is full, submerge the toilet brush in the water and turn on the drill. Do this for about 3 minutes. You can turn off the drill and check the potatoes periodically to see if they're done.
Step 5: Pour out the water and check out your skinless potatoes!
Tip: You'll need a pretty powerful drill in order to really get the potatoes whirling. Disclaimer: We do not advise trying this at home. If you must, please exercise extreme caution. Check out the full video below. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
